Friday night, the talented Mr. Nate Jones on Bass and I headed out to Brooklyn Bowl for a lil live music straight from NOLA!!! His friend Maurice Brown (of the Maurice Brown effect) was celebrating his born day with a performance with his full band (including 2 killer lady sax players and all that jazz)…
grew up in the NOLA area so maybe I’m a little biased - but I think it’I s hard to argue that some of the best musicians come from the Louisiana coastline. The horns, the blues, the zydeco, the funky, the flavor… it’s hard to beat.
We watched Maurice Brown and his folks perform for an hour or so and planned to head out but to our surprise, DJ Neil Armstrong hit the tables and his hit after hit set kept us on the dance floor for another hour.
